Pre-meeting Logistics Information for Traveling Participants
This information will assist you in planning for your participation at the SPARC Data Workshop & Hackathon organized by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Common Fund Program. All SPARC Awardees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements and covering the costs of travel and accommodations for themselves, co-Investigators, and/or key personnel from their award budgets in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the SPARC award.
For SPARC awardees, meeting capacity is limited. Only two participants per awarded project are pre-approved to attend. If more than two participants register, SPARC will contact the Principal Investigator. Note that the deadline for registration is Thursday, November 15th at 11:59 PM ET.
Meeting Schedule
· Wednesday, December 5, 2018, Registration begins at 7:15 AM, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
· Thursday, December 6, 2018, 8:30 AM – 11:00 PM
· Friday, December 7, 2018, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Meeting Location
The meeting will be held at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center located at 5701 Marinelli Road in Rockville, MD 20852-2785 (301-822-9200). The hotel is 0.2 miles from White Flint Metro Station on the Red Line.
Hotel Accommodations for Travelers
A block of sleeping rooms is being held at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center for the nights of December 4-6, 2018 at a negotiated group rate of $181 (plus 13% tax). Travelers are responsible for making their own reservations in this block, secured with a personal credit card. Reservations must be made by November 27, 2018 to ensure a room in the block at this rate. You will need to provide a credit card to confirm your reservation. You can make a reservation in one of two ways:

Please make your reservation without delay, even if you are uncertain of your specific travel plans. Reservations may be canceled 48 hours prior to arrival without penalty.
Meals
All participants are responsible for their own meals. We are currently working with the hotel to offer a selection of box lunches at the all-inclusive price of $19. Please feel free to check back prior to the meeting to view the arrangements and selections that will be available. You will be able to order onsite at the meeting. Alternatively, the dining page of the hotel’s website also provides information on dining options in and near the hotel. There are many restaurant options within walking distance of the hotel.

Metro Subway
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is the only area airport with immediate access to the Metro subway system. From DCA follow signs to the Metro platform. From the DCA Metro location you can travel on the Blue Line train in the direction of Largo Town Center, exit at Metro Center Station, and then transfer to the Red Line train in the direction of Grosvenor or Shady Grove, and finally exit at the White Flint Metro Station, which is 0.2 miles from the Bethesda North Marriott hotel. If you are traveling via Amtrak to Union Station, follow the signs to the Metro platform. From the Union Station Metro location take the Red Line train in the direction of Grosvenor or Shady Grove and exit at the White Flint Metro Station. For further information regarding Metro subway transportation in the Washington, DC, area please see http://www.wmata.com. The hotel is a short walk from the metro station.
Parking: Hotel parking for registered guests is $15 daily. Conference center day guests parking is $2.50 hourly, maximum of $30 per day.

Please note that all SPARC awardees and any co-Investigators or key personnel attending the meeting will be responsible for paying for their travel and accommodations through their award budgets.
